Andrea & Devin
Blandford, NS
08.02.2020
With less than a week to go before Andrea & Devin planned to tie the knot, they began to wonder if carrying out their plans on their big day was going to be as easy as they initially thought. Andrea reached out for a helping hand and with only six days to go I was up for the challenge. Meeting with Andrea was like chatting with an old friend about the most exciting day of her life - and I got to be a part of it.
These unprecedented times have made things a little different for the couples of 2020 and Devin & Andrea were no different. Just a short three weeks before their wedding day they decided to postpone their big reception celebration by a year. Though that didn't stop them from tweaking a few things, sending invitations to their families & their 'bubbles', and tying the knot in an intimate and forever memorable seaside ceremony.
When their floral arrangements did not arrive and a fire alarm signaled in their building, holding them up outside for hours the day before their wedding, Andrea & Devin were a bit worried how things would all play out. After a few calls and trips into local markets the evening before their wedding, I was able to get my hands on flowers for their wedding. Then the sun rose unveiling a beautiful sunny day on Nova Scotia's Southern Shore and their plans began to unfold perfectly.
In the most peaceful, remote, and stunning location all began to fall into place. Andrea & Devin were getting ready in a beautiful cape-cod home overlooking the Chester Basin as their vendors worked quietly behind the scenes to ensure everything was perfect. During a romantic seaside ceremony as the waves rolled into the shore and the sea-spray blew through the air, Devin & Andrea said 'I do' in front of their families.
Dinner was served outdoors overlooking the waves & passing ships. With the sun setting, the air began to chill and guests cozied up inside. The most beautiful day ended with crackling wood burning in the fireplace, celebratory cake & drinks, s'mores, & a newly wedded couple savoring every moment.
